About Dr. Kim Baxter
I am a veterinarian with more than 30 years of experience across general practice, urgent care, emergency medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, relief work, and hospital ownership.
For 14 years, I owned and operated an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital where I worked closely with veterinarians at many stages of their careers. Throughout my career, I have been especially passionate about mentoring and supporting doctors as they build clinical confidence, communication skills, and long-term career satisfaction.
My professional interests include:
New graduate mentorship
Veterinarian onboarding and retention
Clinical confidence development
Communication and team integration
Support for transitioning and returning veterinarians
Sustainable career development within veterinary medicine
I believe veterinarians learn best through supportive mentorship, practical guidance, and collaborative growth—not judgment or unrealistic expectations.
